Hello from Marissa,

As you are likely aware, construction has begun on the Commonwealth Road Culvert Replacement Project. The contractor has installed perimeter erosion control measures and has been authorized to begin clearing and preparing the road shoulders for construction activities.

Over the coming days, residents will also see the contractor installing detour signage and traffic calming measures in preparation for the full roadway closure.  The roadway closure is currently anticipated to begin on July 6 and is expected to remain in place for approximately 28 days.

Residents will receive a postcard next week containing closure information, the detour route, and a link to the project website for additional details and updates. The Town will also be coordinating notifications with Fire, Police, Dispatch, Sanitation, the Mayor's Office, and our Communications Department. Information regarding the closure will be shared through the project website, Town social media channels, and Nextdoor.

During construction, please encourage residents with questions or concerns to contact the Town directly. Many of the personnel working on-site are subcontractors and may not have complete project information. I am happy to discuss any questions from HOA representatives or residents throughout the construction process, so please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your partnership and support as we complete these important infrastructure improvements.

Have a great week,

Attention:
We have a resident alligator.

Alligators are common in this area.  They can be dangerous and should not be approached, frightened or fed.  Please give them the respect they deserve.

Keep your distance.
